LOCATIONS

Chile offers a variety of different locations and terrains to fulfill all your production requirements

cities

For urban scenes, the capital Santiago is a modern metropolis featuring the tallest building in South America – the Costanera Centre – that towers over the business offices of Providencia and the chic restaurants and plush hotels of Las Condes. Downtown – the older part of the city – has wonderful architecture and tourist attractions like La Moneda – the Presidential Palace – and the Plaza de Armas.

desert

In the far north is the Atacama Desert. It may be the driest place on Earth, but it’s also stunning, easy to reach (as part of a well-oiled tourist trail), and it’s always sunny, so you can get that summer look for your production, all year round. If you want a tracking shot of a car winding across the desert (or beach?) on black tarmac roads, a 4×4 rolling across the dunes, or a hiker weaving between the San Pedro cacti, you can get it here in an easy trip from Santiago.

coastline

Chile has 4,000 miles (6,435 km) of coastline that offers the chance to shoot spectacular scenery, wildlife and activities like waterspouts. From the vibrant hippie-surf locations around the city of Arica in the north, to the black ocean waters of the freezing South Pacific around Patagonia and Antarctica’s icebergs in the deep South.

patagonia

A one-hour flight south of Santiago will take you to the beginning of the the spectacular Patagonia region. As soon as you start traveling south from the dry and hot capital, Santiago, Chile becomes greener and greener, with deep forests, rivers and huge lakes growing in intensity as you head south towards Antarctica. It’s a prime spot for adrenaline junkies, like rock climbers and whitewater kayakers.
